In Wide Open Spaces, Wildlife Roams

With all of the sprawling open spaces, it’s no wonder why Central New Mexico is an ideal destination for outdoor enthusiasts.

Hunting has always been a favorite pastime near Albuquerque, and a variety of animals is abundant throughout the region’s forestland.

A number of small game animals thrives here, as do turkey, bear, elk and mule deer.

There are also some species of African animals that can be hunted, including pronghorn antelopes. Overseeing all of the hunting that takes place is the New Mexico Department of Game and Fish.
