Moriarty Pinto Bean Fiesta Honors the Lowly Legume

The city of Moriarty celebrates a vegetable every year.

The 22nd annual Moriarty Pinto Bean Fiesta will descend upon Moriarty City Park on October 11th 2008. Estancia Valley was known as the pinto bean capital of the world in the 1940s, and Moriarty honors this tradition with a variety of events each October.

The events include a pancake breakfast, a Pinto Bean Fun Run, parade, live music, a rodeo, and food and vendor booths.

Festivities begin this year at 9 a.m.
